UK Publishing Date: 24 Nov 2015. 276 pages.
I’ve had this book for a couple of months and honestly I was putting off reading it. The cover just doesn’t do it justice. Generic muscular hot guy in scantily clad pose – just like 90% of the self published novels on Amazon. But when I started reading this yesterday I just couldn’t put it down.
Jordan Bass lives a very quiet life. She’s a student at the University of San Diego and she works part time in a diner. When her trusted old banger gets written off in a car accident she decides to buy her replacement at the police auction. Her car of choice needs a complete upholstery overhaul after a police search so she heads off to a Drag Racing event to meet someone who has been recommended to do a decent and cheap job.
Here Jordan encounters Nic Medina. The archetypal bad boy. An ex con with a love of fast cars and red headed women. It could have been incredibly cheesy but the story that develops is fast paced and the characters are so well described that they become flesh and blood people and you get carried along on the adrenaline rush.
In fact my only complaint was the cliffhanger ending and the fact that the second book isn’t due until December 2016. Come on Tracy – write faster!

I love sharing my favourite books with friends - nearly always spoiler-free as I hate reading a synopsis of the whole book in other reviews.
