The artist she spent her nineteenth year with in Paris. Stepping into the gallery to view the paintings she realises that they are all of her. Although he painted her at the time he has never stopped painting her. It is a shocking revelation, one that will change the course of her life.
Waters-Sayer writes like an artist. Her appreciation for colour and depth is visceral and it pops out at you from the page. The Blue Bath is a most enjoyable debut and a good portent for things to come.
