Undone is the first New Adult romance from Katey Wolfe – better known as Canadian paranormal fiction writer Kelley Armstrong. This story first appeared in a pseudonymous collaborative series with some author friends. When the series disbanded Kelley decided to rework the story as a standalone novella.
Jess Devereaux is a girl with problems. An ex boyfriend who has crossed over to being a serious stalker and controlling parents who really want her to become a plastic surgeon and work in the family business.
Declan Cavanagh runs a gun club and will do whatever it takes to get custody of his half brother away from his violent step-father. Sometimes that even involves hand to hand combat in a cage to earn enough cash to meet his goals.
When Declan and Jess cross paths sparks start to fly and when he offers her his bodyguard services it is only a matter of time before things start to get hot and heavy. Can good girl Jess accept how her life will change with Declan?
This is a fun little novella with some great characters. Like all of Kelley’s books the characters have real depth to them, flaws and weaknesses very much in evidence alongside the positives. Jess is a bit of a kickass heroine who isn’t prepared to sit back and just take what is being dealt to her. In light of recent reports about the sheer volume of female assaults on college campuses it is a timely reminder that not all colleges are as clued up as they should be on this issue.
A thoroughly enjoyable read and hopefully we’ll see something a little longer from Ms Wolfe in this genre very soon.

I love sharing my favourite books with friends - nearly always spoiler-free as I hate reading a synopsis of the whole book in other reviews.
