Book Review: My First Book of Hockey – Editors of Sports Illustrated Kids ****

It is that time of year again and the start of a new Hockey season is upon us. If you have a small person in your household that you want to introduce to the great game then this is the perfect place to start. Aimed at kids but would benefit any newcomer to the game this illustrated book features cut out pictures of current NHL stars to demonstrate key terms like face offs, icing, slap shot, checking etc.

It also covers the parts played by the different types of players and even explains the role of the Zamboni in between periods. It even includes the reasons for the most common penalty calls and these are done particularly well.

A clear and concise guide that the hockey rookie in your life will love.

Supplied by Net Galley and the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

UK publication date: Sept 20th 2016. 48 pages.

I love sharing my favourite books with friends - nearly always spoiler-free as I hate reading a synopsis of the whole book in other reviews.
